Victory is ours in Jesus name!

” Revenge restrained is a victory gained.”
Perhaps you’ve had an experience where someone has tried to bring you down; maybe a family member, an employer or a co-worker. Perhaps ingratitude was repaid for kindness, or well-intended advice was received with scorn. Even when it seems as if we’re being repaid with evil for doing good, we don’t have to take matters in our own hands; we can trust God with the outcome. Despite the overwhelming unfairness of life, David in Psalm 37 prays that he will not retaliate but will instead rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him to bring justice to the earth in due time (v.7). “For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth” (v.9).We must not then avenge ourselves, “for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord …. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Rom. 12:19, 21). I firmly believe that God wants us to gain victory over sin and evil.In order to gain victory over sin and evil we must allow God to help us gain control over what we think. By God’s strength we can control the negative influences we put into our minds, and place good things in our mind.

When we seek to hurt others in an effort to get revenge, the only one we actually hurt is ourselves. God is always at work fighting on our behalf. Instead of seeking revenge, let’s fight to forgive and trust that God, in His timing, will set things right. God will fight our battles and victory will be ours!

Verse for today
Romans 12:19
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

Rest in the arms of Jesus

When we think of rest, we usually think of rest for our bodies. But when Jesus thinks of rest, he is talking about rest for our souls. In this world, we strive for food that perishes and clothes that wear out but have you ever wondered what a blessed time we will have when we finally surpass ever secondary blessing and rest on the arms of God!
The inhabitants of heaven will have no need of medicine to cure diseases, no need to sleep to refresh their bodies but they will tirelessly praise God night and day.
What a glorious time that will be! Let’s live our lives so that God will come and take us there!

Verse for today
Hebrews 4:9-11
So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest.

Bringing people to Jesus

Some people have to be “carried” to Jesus because they can’t get to Him by themselves. One day while Jesus was preaching in a certain house, four men brought their paralyzed friend so He could heal him. They couldn’t get through the crowd so they climbed up onto the roof, created an opening and lowered the man down to Jesus and He healed him. Like this man, some of us are paralyzed. You may ask, “Paralyzed by what?” We are paralyzed by our out-of-control behavior or paralyzed by a belief system that tells us we are too sinful for God to ever love and redeem us. We are paralyzed by the memory of something that happened to us in our childhood years and now we’re afraid to talk about it. We are paralyzed by prescription drugs, an addiction to illegal substances, alcohol, work or money. Today, whether we are paralyzed by fear, anxiety, depression, or a lack of self-worth, there is hope for you. You need tenacious faith that refuses to quit. Although it was a heavy burden to carry this man to Jesus, they persisted. A lot of times, we have prayed for a friend and nothing seems to be happening. Here’s a great scripture, “If two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them” [Matthew 18:19-20]. Just because you talked to someone about the Lord before and they didn’t respond, it doesn’t mean they won’t respond now. Maybe they weren’t ready back then and now their situations have changed. The point is never cease to bring others to Jesus. The greatest achievement in life is bringing someone to Jesus Christ. Don’t be discouraged today! Keep praying that you will win souls for Christ!

Verse for today
Romans 10:1
Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.

Heal my heart Lord

Have you ever had your heart broken? What are the reasons why we are left with a broken heart? It may be the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job, loss of status, loss of health, betrayal by a friend, loss of a child and, yes, loss of your childhood. As David mentioned in Psalms 147:3: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” God wants to heal us of all of our wounds. If you have ever had an injury or a deep cut, you know how painful it is and how it hurts to be touched. Sometimes our heart is so broken that we can’t even express the words and nothing seems to take the pain away. Like a deep wound, a broken heart will not heal overnight.Seek God as your healer! Just like you tell a doctor your symptoms, tell God how much you were wounded and need His healing touch. He will hear the cries of the broken. God the Father wants to reach down, take your hand, and walk you through your pain. Jesus is present to heal your broken heart.

Verse for today
Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

The remedy for jealousy is thankfulness to God

” The remedy for jealousy is thankfulness to God.” Jealousy is a powerful force, that we often need God’s words to help us overcome
We have a good reason to be positive in our actions and thoughts because our Heavenly Father understands our needs and meets them. All of us can fall prey to jealousy. Jealousy arises from a heart overcome by:

•  Greed. We become discontent with what God has given to us, and we want what other people have, believing that will make us happy.

• Selfishness. We compare ourselves to others, and instead of rejoicing with them, we focus on our own life and what we don’t have.

• Pride. Seeing the success of other people makes us feel inadequate, and in an attempt to build ourselves up, we belittle them. Rachel and Leah (Genesis 30). Jealously caused their children to sell their own brother, Joseph, into slavery (Genesis 37). Let’s take heed and beware of jealousy! No need to be jealous of someone who has material possessions than you! No need to be jealous of someone who might be more successful in this life! Today, look within yourself and thank God for His blessings on your life!

Verse for today
1 Corinthians 3:3
You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?

Life’s setbacks can teach us to wait upon the Lord.

” The setbacks of life can teach us to wait upon the Lord for His help and strength.”
Life can be exciting and then it changes to what the world calls a ‘ middle crisis‘. We are faced with setbacks and so we become depressed. We all have setbacks in life. It may be a setback related to finances, health, your career, or your relationships. In fact, you may be experiencing a setback right now. The difficulties of life seem to overwhelm us, but it provides an opportunity for us to deepen our relationship in God.Today, whatever mountains you face remember you can depend on God. We can learn to wait on God who will provide the strength we need.

Verse for today
Psalm 27:14
" Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."

What God promises, He provides

” What God promises, God will provide.”
As God’s children, we have been granted full access to all the valuable resources God offers to us. Let’s stop complaining of what we don’t have and think on the things God blessed us with! When you put God first, He is able to provide what He promises in His Word. God never breaks a promise! Some days, it is hard with the pain I go through. Some days, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, depressed, and hopeless. God’s word is fully packed with promises we can cling to no matter what our needs or circumstances may be. God promises to provide for His people. Yes! He absolutely does! When we are sick, He heals us. When we have no food or money, He provides for us. When we are afraid, He protects us. Today, let’s trust Him to accomplish the things that seem impossible!

Verse for today
John 15:7
" If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you will and it shall be done for you.”

Pour out your heart before God

” God does more than hear words, He reads hearts.”
Jesus says you don’t need to worry about getting the words right because ‘ your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him.’ God’s listening to our hearts more than our words. He’s not grading us on how well we express ourselves. Compare prayer with breathing! We don’t breathe only when we feel like it. No, we cling to the breath in our bodies like it’s life. So, just as breathing, prayer is an indispensible part of life. The vapors of evil and the wickedness of the enemy have such a strong hold on the hearts and minds of the people of this world today that they no longer understand that God is listening. As Chronicles 7:14 says: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Everything will happen in His timing. God knows what is best for you and He hears the desires of your heart. He will give you the desires of your heart when the time is right. Edward Keith says, ‘ Prayer is exhaling the spirit of man and inhaling the Spirit of God.’ Let’s pray without ceasing!

Verse for today
Psalm 44:21
Would not God find this out?
For He knows the secrets of the heart.

The Good Shepherd

John 10 : 14-15 states, “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep knows me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father–and I lay down my life for the sheep.” With so much happening in our nation right now, we need the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ to lead us. He laid down His life for us and He continues to protect and guide us. Note four things about Jesus the Good Shepherd. He owns the sheep: they belong to Him. He guards the sheep: J e never abandons them when danger is near. He knows the sheep, knows them each by name and leads them put. And He lays down His life for the sheep, such is the measure of His love. How thankful we should be today? “The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” implies that this kind of shepherd stands ready to sacrifice his total self if need be. The Lord Jesus used this title to help people appreciate that He is the loving, caring, Saviour of the world. It doesn’t matter how bad or hopeless your circumstances are, there’s always hope. The good shepherd has already died for you, and he has risen from the dead! He is looking for you. He wants to give you a full life and fill your heart with thanksgiving. Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd, trust Him!

Verse for today
John 10 :11
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

No excuses

“A focused person make commitments, not excuses. “

Excuses in our lives give us permission to settle for less than God’s best and justify our shortcomings. In the Christian world, we can find all sorts of excuses not to obey God’s voice: “It’s the preacher’s job.” “It’s not my gift.” “I’ve already served, let someone else do it.” “I’m too busy or too tired or too old or too young.”The Bible is full of people making excuses and making excuses is as old as human beings. Jeremiah had every excuse ready when God called him to be a prophet. His excuses are often our excuses for not heeding God’s voice when he calls. Countering each excuse was a promise from God. Have you been making excuses for not using your gift? If you are sure that God told you to do something don’t be afraid to do it because He is by your side.  Trust the Word of God and the plans He has for our lives! God’s plan says He will give us a new hope and a bright future. Success will ultimately come to us when our dreams become bigger than our excuses. I want to challenge you today, stop making or accepting excuses from yourself. Stop making reasons why you cannot achieve or reach such and such a goal.  Eternal Father, I repent of any and all times that I have made excuses. I ask that You will favor me and use me to do what you want me to do. Amen.

Verse for today
Jeremiah 1:4-1]
Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.” ...
